![]() You may restrict access to the test in a number of manners. First you may specify a window in time where the test will be accessible. Do this by making appropriate entries in the Start Date, Start Time, End Date and End Time boxes. Leave the entries blank to specify no time restrictions on access. You may also limit the amount of time the user is permitted to take the test. That is, once the user requests the test through the login screen, the clock is ticking. After the value that you enter into the Time Limit box in minutes has expired, Test Pilot will not permit the userís to record their responses. You may limit the number of attempts that the user may record responses. This is typically set to 1 for a test. Tutorial or practice tests may have a value in the Limit Attempts box other than 1 to permit the user to try the test more than once. Leave this field blank to permit unlimited attempts. This will normally limit attempts by the users as specified in the User Restrictions list. If that list is empty, the attempts will be restricted by their IP address. Therefore, you could optionally elect to restrict submissions from any IP address to 1 submission. The Internet address of the computer accessing the test can also be restricted. Leave the IP Restrictions field blank to specify no such restrictions. Simply entering the permitted Internet addresses, one per line, into the field will restrict access to the test to those specified addresses. ( e.g. 128.210.65.1 ) To permit an entire subnet access (all 255 possible addresses on a subnet), simply enter the subnet address without the final number. ( e.g. 128.210.65 ) Finally the students permitted to access the test must be added to the User Restrictions field. This field is a set of student ID/Name pairs separated by commas, one pair per line. For example for a student named John Doe with a student id number of 12345, the entry line for him would look like: 12345,John Doe Leaving the User Restrictions field blank will result in everyone being able to access the test.
