Selecting Questions Individually and Navigating Between Questions Quickly
The question pick & group selection screen lists all of the questions in the database. It allows the finest control over exactly which questions will be offered on an assessment. If necessary, use the scrollbar at the right side of the window to see the titles of all of your questions.
Alongside each question is a pop-up menu of question group id's. This allows you to quickly assign questions to groups. When an assessment is generated, its questions are sorted first by group. Next to the group id is a question id number. This is an arbitrary but unique value for each question. It is on this number that questions within a group are sorted prior to exporting for the web server. To adjust the order of questions, simply change the id number of the question you wish to move and click on the Sort button near the top, right side of the window. Just to the left of the question's text is the omit checkbox. This allows you to omit any question from the assessment generated and exported for Test Pilot's web server component. Simply check this box to prevent a question from being offered. Note that the text of the question is a hyperlink. That is, you can click on any question's title to immediately jump to question designing mode for that question. This makes this question selection screen a powerful aid in navigation when editing questions in a large database. As always, help is available by clicking on the help message at the bottom right corner of the window. |
