Serving Assessments with Test Pilot's Web Server Extension
While Test Pilot's database component allows you to easily design your assessments, it is Test Pilot's web server component that does the real work by:
Test Pilot's web server extension accomplishes this task by extending the functions of your organization's web server. The extension has been implemented with Sun Microsystem's Java programming language according to Sun's Java Servlet API. All this means is that Test Pilot's web server extension is platform independent. That is, it runs on nearly every server computing platform in use today. This includes MacOS, Windows 95/98/NT, Novell and UNIX. Write-once - run anywhere; it's not just a slogan anymore, it's reality. Our use of the cutting-edge Java programming language enables use to deliver our software simultaneously to multiple platforms. It cuts our development costs and our time-to-market. We can simply deliver better and less expensive software more quickly and to more customers than our competition. What it means to you is that you can change your computing environment to use the most cost-effective computing hardware and software without significant impact in your ability to deliver assessment services with our software. Before you can begin deploying your assessments, your technical support staff will need to install Test Pilot on their web server. Consult our system requirements on what steps are necessary to implement Test Pilot in your computing environment. Once you have Test Pilot's web server extension installed and you have prepared your assessment with Test Pilot's authoring database, it's time to tell your participant how to access and respond to the assessment. Our access information covers a number of ways you can let participants access assessments with Test Pilot. Finally, after you have deployed your assessment and your participants have submitted their responses, Test Pilot offers a rich variety of administrative options to permit you to analyze the data collected. |
