Assessment Administration
Back - Authoring Up - Test Pilot v3 Next - Viewing Responses

If, as the test creator, you wish to edit questions or access and analyze participant responses, you need to use Test Pilot's administrative or owner options. Using the administrative options, you can:

  • view participant responses

  • download a spreadsheet of participant responses for further analysis

  • view question statistics including:
    • frequency analysis of responses with a bar graph
    • mean, maximum and minimum point awards
    • survey question statistics
    • and other statistical items of interest

  • define and generate custom reports as:
    • web pages
    • spreadsheets
    • server files for automated analysis

  • score essay questions online

  • rescore any participant response

  • score all responses to any question

  • view a list of participant scores

  • download a spreadsheet of participant scores

  • manage your response data

  • edit your assessment's questions on the fly

You may access the administrative options of your assessment by logging into it with the owner id and password that was specified when creating the test.

  • If your assessment was created online, the administrator who created your assessment specified an owner id and password and should have passed on that information to you.

  • If your assessment was created offline using the standalone authoring database, the owner id and password are entered on the first security screen, Security - Global Info.

Accessing Administrative Options

If your assessment file was named mysurvey.tp3 and located in the surveys directory of your web server, server.edu, regular access would be obtained by accessing the following URL:

    http://server.edu/surveys/mysurvey.tp3

This would result in a login dialog as shown below:

In order to access the administrative options, enter your assessment's owner id and password separated by a comma and NO spaces in the box provided. For example, if your owner id was fred and the password was xyzzy, you would enter fred, xyzzy in the space provided and hit return or click on the Request button.

Anonymous Surveys with Login Dialogs

In the case where you may have designated the assessment to be accessed bypassing the login dialog, you can specify the owner id and password in the URL used to access the test. In the above example, you could directly access the owner options using the following URL:

    http://server.edu/surveys/mysurvey.tp3?USER_ID=fred,xyzzy

Please note that USER_ID is case sensitive and there is an underscore separating USER and ID. The underscore character is typically typed using a shifted minus key on a standard US keyboard.
