At the top of the Choose Questions page is a list of all groups created for your assessment. When you begin editing, a single group, default group, is used to collect your questions for presentation.
The list shows each group name, whether it is used to determine which questions are presented to participants (used for generation), a count of questions in the group and if a random selection is to be made, how many questions should be selected. If you are using multiple groups that are marked used for generation, the groups are presented in the top to bottom order as shown on this list. To create a new group, simply enter a name for the new group in the space provided and click the create button. To edit any particular group, simply click on its title. See blow for an explanation. To delete a group, check the group's delete button. Editing a Group When you click upon a group name in the list of question groups, you are presented with a list of the questions in the assessment's question bank as shown below:
Each question that is a part of the group is checked. To add a question simply check the associated select box and click the update button. When you check a question's select box, it will be added to the end of the question group and this will be indicated by its order entry. That is, to add questions to a group in a particular order, check each question's select box in the order you desire and click the update button. Each selected question has an associated order number. It is by this number that questions will be presented if random selection is not enabled. To reorder questions, simply adjust the order numbers of the questions and click the update button. The group name is shown in a box. If you wish, make changes and click the update button to save the new name. Below the name is a checkbox that allows you to choose whether you wish to have Test Pilot make a random selection. Check the box and enter a number of questions to select and click the update button. Every time Test Pilot generates an assessment using the group a different random selection will be made. Test Pilot uses this live method for random selection; many competing products make a small number of permutations (3 or 4) and rotate between them which is not a true random selection. Saving your Changes - Don't forget to Update It should be noted that on the editing panels, you will see one or more Update buttons. Whenever you adjust a setting or make changes to any item, you must click an update button to record the changes. You may make multiple changes and then click Update, but if you fail to click the update button, your changes may not be recorded. |
