Test Pilot Assessment Indices provide:
The index list shows a list of assessment indices and their owners. This interface allows the Test Pilot administrator to create, delete and reassign ownership of an assessment index. There MUST be at least one authorized author defined New Assessment Index
To create an assessment index, you must define a URL which will be used to access the index. Shown alongside the Make button is your server's name. You'll need to complete the URL including a valid Test Pilot index filename ending in .tpx. The name may ONLY include characters from a..z, A..Z and from 0..9 plus the slash (/) character. Once you have entered the completed URL, select an author name from the popup list to the right and then click the Make button. Test Pilot will then create an assessment index owned by the selected author and accessible using the URL entered. If you check the notify box and the author whom you have chosen to won the index has an e-mail address defined in the author list, an automatic e-mail message will be sent to the author informing them that an assessment index has been created for them including instructions and the URL's for accessing the index. In the above example, if you entered myindex.tpx in the box and clicked the Make button. an assessment index accessible using the URL http://tp1.clearLearning.com/myindex.tpx and owned by Joe Jarzembowski would be created. The following URL's would then be available for accessing the assessment index from any internet browser: Note that in the case where you may specify a path to the index using slashes, the intervening directories as listed in the URL must exist. For example, if you entered tests/joe/index.tpx in the box, the directory tests must exist at your web server's root directory. Within tests, the joe subdirectory must also exist. Changing Indices Once you have defined an assessment index, it will appear in the list along with a management link. You may click upon the link to begin management of the index. You will be challenged to enter the owning author's id and password before management access is granted. Reassigning Ownership You may reassign an assessment index to be owned by another author. To do this, click the appropriate select button associated with the desired index, select a new author from the list provided alongside the Assign button and click the Assign button. Deleting Indices You may delete an assessment index. Note that if you delete an assessment index, all enclosed assessments, submissions, shared user and workstation lists, predefined e-mail messages, gradebooks, and event lists will be UNRECOVERABLY deleted. Thus, this option should be exercised with GREAT CARE! To delete an assessment index, click the appropriate select button associated with the index to be deleted, check the enable deletion checkbox and then check the Delete Selected Index button. |
