Back - Public Workstation Lists Up - Administration

Test Pilot Enterprise v4.1 introduced the concept of a public assessment library. The library is a tree structured directory where assessments are the leaves that test authors may check out. The Test Pilot administrator maintains this tree building catalogs and subcatalogs and promoting any author's assessment into the catalogs.

The tree is navigated starting at the base with a list of calalogs presented. A space is provided for the entry of a new catalog name. To access or change a subcatalog, simply click on that catalog's name. Below the list of catalogs is a list of every assessment in the Test Pilot database along with its owner. The administrator can choose from this list any assessment that they may wish to include in the currently displayed catalog.

New Subcatalog

To create a new subcatalog, simply enter a name for the catalog in the space provided and click the Update Catalog button.

Navigating

To edit a subcatalog, simply click the catalog's name and a new manament screen will appear for that subcatalog. At the top of each catalog is a space where the title may be editied. Also provided are the titles of parent catalogs presented as links to help you return to other tree levels in the library.

To cease editing the public library and resume other administrative options, click the Return to Administration Home button

Deleting Catalogs

To delete a catalog, click the associated select button, check the enable deletion checkbox and click the Delete Selected Catalog Entry button. The catalog must be empty for deletion to occur.

Adding Assessments to Catalogs

To add an assessment to a catalog, first be sure you have permisssion from the author to make the assessment available to all authors using the system. Then, locate the assessment's title and author in the list provided, click the associated select button and click the Add Selection to Catalog button.

A copy of the test will be made in the library. The copy will contain no security information. That is, when another author checks out the assessment, they will need to define any user or computer lists they may wish to use to limit access to the checked out assessment.
