Test Pilot Enterprise Manual |

Each Test Pilot assessment index and assessment has an associated list of users which may be used to control access for security purposes. An empty user list implies open access. The administrator can create and manage public lists which can be used by any index or assessment in the Test Pilot network. Authors may create their own shared user lists which can be used by any assessments in their index.
Listed are shared user lists, public user lists and the index's private participant and manager lists. A Shared User List is a list that may be used by any assessment in the assessment index. It is editable by the assessment index's owner and their delegate managers. A Public User List is a list maintained by the Test Pilot administrator that can be used by any author in the Test Pilot network for any assessment. It is only editable by the administrator. The index's participant list controls who may access the index's general URL. The index's manager list controls who may manage the assessment index. At this time, index managers are granted the same privileges as authors. Creating New Shared User Lists To create a new shared user list, simply enter a name for the list in the space provided and click the Create button. Deleting Shared User Lists To delete a shared user list, click the associated select button, check the enable deletion checkbox and click the Delete Selected User List button. The fields are defined as follows: id - this is an arbitrary string of one or more characters; spaces, commas, tabs or nonprinting characters are not allowed. You should adjust the order of the fields in your file by entering numbers as appropriate in the spaces provided. If the information is in a server file in the format recognized by version 3 of Test Pilot, simply click the v3 format checkbox. For security purposes, Test Pilot imports from files located in the web server's current directory as defined by the URL used to access the index management options. If you used http://SERVER/servlet/TestPilot4/tests/joe/mytest.tp4?manage then Test Pilot uses the joe subdirectory of the tests subdirectory of the web server's document root directory. Enter the name of the ASCII file in the selected directory which contains the user information and click the Import button. |
