The controls for securing access to your assessment is broken down into five areas which will appear in the lower right panel when you use the link shown, as above, in the top right panel. These include:
These features combined allow you to specify who may access an assessment, from where and at what time. For example, you could restrict access to a particular computer laboratory at a particular time. With a proctor checking id's at the door, you enjoy the same level of security as a paper-based test. Test Pilot's security features represent the most comprehensive set of security features for online assessment in the industry.
Owner's E-Mail Address - enter an e-mail address to be used as a return address for any automatically generated e-mail messages for this assessment. E-mailing functions require special configuration and security permissions that may not be available at all installations. Managers - you may specify a set of assessment managers to assist you. They may have varying levels of access as specified in this list. In order for the managers to log in, they must follow the same procedure as the owner except using the unique id and password entered in this list. The following levels of manager security are available:
Question Bank Editors (v4.1.3 and later) - you may specify a set of managers permitted to edit assessment questions. They must also appear in the manager list with edit permission enabled On Windows servers running IIS, id's must be valid login accounts and the password column is not shown since the user's Windows password will be used. This means that all assessment managers must have a login account on Windows servers when running Test Pilot under IIS. Help is Available! Please note that, at any time while you are editing an assessment, you can click upon the titles of the fields listed for your entries. If you do so, a pop-up window with an explanation of the items use and features will be shown. Saving your Changes - Don't Forget to Update It should be noted that on the editing panels, you will see one or more Update buttons. Whenever you adjust a setting or make changes to any item, you must click an update button to record the changes. You may make multiple changes and then click Update, but if you fail to click the update button, your changes may not be recorded. The mode popup menu allows you to adjust access to Test Pilot features and trim the detail of the automatically provided assistance for authoring.
